Jesse Hindman, Esq.

Partner

A former partner in the San Diego office of DLA Piper, Jesse Hindman has represented many of the largest and high-profile companies in the world, handling high-stakes litigation and trials. Founding his own firm and now with Edleson & Hindman, Jesse continues to represent cutting-edge technology and life sciences companies in connection with their critical intellectual property and complex cases, but has expanded his practice to also represent individuals and businesses of all sizes whose legal problems require top-tier, effective representation with proven results.

Jesse attended law school at the University of San Diego, graduating cum laude in the top 10% of his class. He began his career litigating serious and often catastrophic injury cases on behalf of individuals, businesses, and insurance companies. In 2005, he joined DLA Piper’s intellectual property litigation group and spent over a decade representing some of the world’s pre-eminent companies, litigating complex cases involving damages claims in the hundreds of millions and even billions of dollars. In 2017, Jesse attained a career-long goal of launching his own successful independent law practice. Most recently, Jesse joined forces with Chip Edleson to continue providing clients the highest quality legal services with a team that has a level of courtroom experience and track-record of success that very few can match.

Leveraging his breadth of experience, Jesse handles a variety of cases focusing on civil lawsuits involving business and intellectual property disputes, insurance related lawsuits involving denial of coverage and bad faith, and negligence cases involving clients who have suffered serious personal injuries. In addition, his experience and familiarity with the local courts and judges combined with his background in high-stakes business and intellectual property litigation makes Jesse a “go to” choice to act as local counsel for cases venued in San Diego and Southern California.

Jesse is also dedicated to community service and pro bono work. For free, Jesse represented Life Rolls On—a non-profit foundation dedicated to improving the quality of life for young people affected by spinal cord injury—in connection with a 2-year multiple count patent infringement litigation that resulted in a complete win for this deserving client. And in connection with its intellectual property issues, Jesse has provided free legal services to A Reason To Survive (ARTS)—a non-profit creative youth development organization that uses the arts to change the lives of at-risk youth.

In his free time, Jesse enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his children’s softball and baseball teams, and surfing.
